Players role Player will use the mouse and/or arrow keys to turn and maneuver a wheel which matches opposing words on the screen.
Game objective

The player must complete the grid to clear the board before the time ends.

Learning objective

This game is designed to be reused. It can be used to help learn the association between words. e.g. words with opposite meaning, days of the week, numbers etc. The first instance of this game will addresses language awareness(listening and reading strands) At the end of this game, player will be able to:

  • recognize common sounds in words(identify words that sound alike e.g-nasal sounds, vowel sounds, consonants,etc)

In another instance of this game:

  • Match connected words-e.g words related to colours, family members, directions, animals, days of the week, climate, etc
  • Match everyday words to other words of opposite meaning(antonyms)
Description of Play

The player can move a wheel around a grid using the directional keys. When a button is pressed the bubbles inside the wheel rotate clockwise. Using the wheel the player rotates the position of bubbles to match them horizontally or vertically to there opposite or match. Rotating the wheel is the only way to move the bubbles. The Wheel fits four. When a bubble matches with its opposite the two bubbles light up and the player scores points. The player must light up all bubbles on the board before the time ends or try again. The amount of bubbles and words are generated from the word bank. The colour of the bubbles is a visual hint as to which other word bubble it needs to be next too. Gaining Points + points/money For time left on the clock. + points/money For Clearing the board + points/money For matching 2 bubbles.

the board is displayed to the left while the clock, score and players avatar are on the right (see ExampleScreen.jpg). In the example Grandfather is taking the place of the player’s avatar.
