Story
The "story" involves the player undertaking a career as either a professional golfer, or creating their own golfer from scratch. The professional golfers available to choose from include :
- Tiger Woods
- Darren Clarke
- Vijay Singh
- Jim Furyk
- Colin Montgomerie
- Plus 20 more (including female golfers)
During the career mode, the player aims to improve his statistics - driving power, shot accuracy, short game and putting.
There are also many tournaments to be played and prizes to be won for achievements on the golf course
Gameplay
The club movement is very well manipulated by movement of the left analogue stick. Alternatively the player can use the 'x' button to strike their shot. The face buttons offer the player the chance to change the angle and spin of their shot, while the triggers allow for extra power and putting abilities to be used.
The length of time the player drags back the left analogue stick contributes to the strength of the swing, and overall distance the ball travels.
Sound & Visuals
The visuals are top-notch, the player even has the option of importing his own face into the game. Players look very realistic, as does the scenery. The Sound is probably the only negative aspect of the game. The commentators do not know when to keep their mouths shut.
Newly Added Features
- Player starts with Coach Hank Haney. He helps contribute to your skill levels and offers tips on how to maximize your potential
- Dynamic Skill. This is what makes the career mode very realistic. If the player is having an off day, his skill levels will drop. If the player is having a great day on the course, his skill levels will rise. You can also train your golfer to raise them attributes a little extra.
- Club Tuner to test out and modify how exactly your club will work. It gives you the opportunity to edit the clubs power, accuracy and spin.
Overview
This game combines realism with a great amount of fun. There's no better feeling than getting an eagle on that par 5, it will literally leave you jumping out of your seat at every hole. Highly addictive with lots to do. This is a great game!
